Lovely place to stop for coffee and food, very dog friendly, lead hooks on table, lots of dog water bowls. Gets very busy, but we got a table both times. Highly recommend before or after the beach.
The eggs Benedict was great, salmon eggs hollandaise cooked to perfection. Coffee also good get a large if dining in. Downside was the table and seating we sat on a bench and there was quite a bit of wind on the day dusty and three times our water glasses had dog hair in them :-/ overall a fun and tasty experience. View to die for and whales out to sea breaching perfect after a walk in the beach.
Felt like a tourist trap. Paid $43 for 2 serves of eggs on toast and a small takeaway coffee which didn’t show up until 10 mins after the food, there was nowhere to sit as it was super busy. Had to find a nearby bench to sit and eat and was just a poor experience all round.
Really great cafe, good to take a walk on the beach and have some coffee.

The Salty Dog Cafe lived up to the hype. Wonderful coffee, food & atmosphere. Staff were friendly and overall we had a great afternoon. Can’t wait to go back!!
We have previously had lunch here and food was super tasty, we had callamari, chips and salad and a beef burger and chips, huge serves also. This time we had only takeaway coffees and a strawberry milkshake and we went down to the beach, such a great location, coffee was lovely and made well.
Beef burger was really good, real beef (no fillers), and sauces were not too overwhelming. The bread bun was soft, and crunchy chips were good but not the best I have had. Prices were expensive but very typical of tourist Torquay inflation and quality.
One of my go-to spots in Torquay. Get to enjoy your food/drink, while watching over the water. Great atmosphere, cute dogs & birds. Prime location. Just down the road from the main shopping strip.
They had great merch!! I bought a light pink beanie, and it’s been a hit.
Happy with the food- on the menu & in the cabinet, and smoothie options. My burrito bowl was huge, it’s rare for me not to finish a meal at a cafe😅
All outdoor seating, so in winter harder to come here & would have to rug up for the wind/cold/rain. Would be nice if there was optional indoor seating. I would imagine in summer it’s THE spot.
